I’m Ramón, photographer and FPV pilot in Fuerteventura. In this post I’ll explain exactly what FPV is, how it differs from a conventional photography drone, and which types of projects it makes most sense for.
What Is FPV and How Does It Differ from a Regular Drone?
FPV stands for «First Person View.» The pilot flies wearing goggles that transmit a real-time feed from the drone’s camera — as if the pilot’s eyes were mounted on the drone itself. The difference from a conventional photography drone (like a DJI Mavic or Air) is radical. FPV is neither better nor worse than a conventional drone — they are completely different tools for completely different goals.

Can FPV be used indoors? Yes. FPV is one of the few tools that can shoot both exterior and interior in a single continuous shot, flying in through a window or doorway.
