A boudoir session is one of the most personal photography experiences there is. It’s also one of the most memorable. You don’t need a special reason — people do it because they want to, because they deserve it, or simply because the idea has been circling in their head for a while.
I’m Ramón, a photographer based in Corralejo, and I offer boudoir sessions in Fuerteventura’s unique natural settings. In this post I’ll cover everything you need to know: what to expect, how privacy works, and how to prepare so the results genuinely surprise you.
What Is a Boudoir Session?
Boudoir is an intimate and artistic style of photography that blends sensuality, elegance and authenticity. It isn’t pornography, it doesn’t require nudity, and it has nothing to do with how you look, your age, or your dress size.
Boudoir sessions are made for one person: you. They’re not for someone else, not for social media (unless you want them to be), and they need no justification. Every session is different depending on the person, the setting, and what you’re hoping to get out of it.
What they all have in common: the photos show a version of you that you rarely see. And when you look at them for the first time, most people are genuinely surprised by what they find.
Outdoors or Indoors?
The unique advantage of a boudoir session in Fuerteventura is the natural setting. Most sessions of this kind happen in hotel rooms or studios — here, we have something very different.
Outdoors. The Corralejo dunes at sunrise are my favourite setting for boudoir. At that hour, the dunes are completely empty. The light is soft and warm. The sand creates a natural backdrop that gives the images an artistic character you simply can’t replicate in any studio.
Other outdoor options: Popcorn Beach (the black volcanic rocks create a striking visual contrast), quiet and secluded coastal spots with no foot traffic.
Indoors. If you prefer an enclosed space, we can work in a private apartment or villa. You choose the space, and we use it as the setting. This is especially practical if you already have accommodation with good natural light.
Privacy and Confidentiality
I understand this is the most important point for many people. So I want to be completely clear:
What to Bring
You don’t need to over-prepare. Some ideas:
- Underwear or lingerie you feel comfortable in — something you like, not something «perfect»
- A kimono, robe or cover-up for transitions and changes between looks
- Accessories that feel like you: jewellery, a hat, special shoes
- Makeup already done, or what you need to touch up during the session
There’s no requirement to bring specific lingerie. I’ve shot sessions with jeans and a t-shirt, with sheets, with dresses, with almost anything. What matters is how you feel — that’s what comes through in the photos.

Do I need to have a particular body type? Not at all. Boudoir is for every body and every age. I’ve photographed people of very different backgrounds, sizes and life stages. The aim is for you to come out as yourself — the most authentic version of you.
Can I bring someone with me? Yes. If it helps you feel more comfortable, you’re welcome to bring a friend or your partner. During the shoot itself we’ll find a level of privacy that works for everyone.
Can couples do a boudoir session? Yes, I also shoot intimate couples sessions. The process is the same: we start by talking about what you’re looking for and build the session from there.
What time do outdoor sessions happen? Ideally at sunrise, when the dunes are empty. In August that means between 7:30 and 9:00am. I know it’s early — but the photos that come out at that hour genuinely can’t be replicated at any other time of day.
